Ideas

Having suffered multiple setbacks, we are now planning on filming on Wednesday the 4th of march.

We plan to film:
Greenscreen footage, to place onto a Facebook page, of both Amber singing and have some shots of her applying for the #GlobalGaga video, this will then be placed onto a Facebook page and we will show Paige and Brodie scrolling through it and looking at the performance clip. The performance clip will be something of a preview for a show that Amber's character is doing.

We also plan to film Paige and Brodie in a cafe, I think this will include Amber stalking them, perhaps sat behind them or in the immediate vicinity hiding behind a newspaper. I plan to film this in the Media Museums cafe.

We will also film in the media museum, to get similar shots as we had with charlie, so we can replaces Charlie's parts with Paige.

Idea 2

Inspired by the events of creative arts evening, we have decided to include Mr Sharpe and his fire juggling in the video we are making.

The plan is to present it as a surprise party for Brodie's character, who will be lead there by Charlie, with Gaga covering his eyes, he can then enjoy the specatular display from Mr Sharpe (and hopefully some cake).

We intend to film this on the front lawn of school, where it will be easy to frame the shots to exclude the school and make it feel like a back garden

Performance Idea #1 (Update)

Having talked to the year 10s, we have decided to swap the idea, to make it feel more Gaga.

Now, we intend on having 3 sections of gaga

1. The Leader Gaga (LG), this will be the gaga sat in a chair, somewhat like the pimp in the original video. Where the original presented a make ruled world, we intend to subvert this message and present gaga as being the one in control of her actions. LG will sit on her throne, over looking the other gagas. In order to make it easier to film, we shall be using 3 different shots for this, a CU, a MLS HA and a MLS MA. This will mean that we can have 2 tripods set up to film her and her minion people, as well as having a CU to cut to if we want


2. The Minion Gaga (MG), this will be a group of 5 gagas sat around LGs throne. Some shots will be done as LG then MGs straight after in order to keep the angles the same. However, others will be CUs of the MGs


3. The 3rd group are the Newspaper Dancing Gagas (DG), there will be around 5 of them, but with scope to include more if needed, these will be singing and dancing to LG.

Upon considering this idea over night, I think having the wings worn by LG would be best, with the large dress worn by either the MGs (most likely) or DGs. The other would 

Performance Idea #1

We want to have a performance done in a completely white room, somewhat similar to the main video.

The current plan is to use dresses from the Creative Arts Evening that the year 10s made, perhaps dressing the year 10s up in the dresses, and then filming everyone on a green screen in order to pose them and synchronise the dancing.

Lady gaga marry the night ideas

Bride, been abandoned at altar, perhaps start around lunch/late afternoon, looking sad, quick speed to the evening and she's still there upset, gets up and goes walking through the town at night, late evening, with her bouquet, black white and red flowers? she throws it at a tramp?

these colours similar to the cover for born this way.

perhaps start with limo, woman gets out of the limo, then is abandoned at altar, creates nice juxtaposition.

use a street at night, sort of see it looking like fairly blue and moonlit, but with orange patches, from the street lights.

continuing with the narrative ideas:

potential to have the focus be gaga, a performance and a narrative filming parts for her, but, for avalibility and ease of filming, could potentially use two people, one gaga and one focus, looking like this may be the ultimate choice. in terms of other characters, we could do with a tramp characters, dirty looking, mangy beard maybe, or get a tramp costume, sort of see a fagan looking person, the fingerless gloves, ling coat, etc. maybe have a look in charity stores?

We also plan on following the narrative around various locations, such as pubs alleys and streets with shops; we also think military looking outfits would look good and tie in well with the line about military boots.

We also think we should boost the secondary audience, by referencing femme fatales, flashdance/footloose/fame and other films in the locations, costumes and editing we will be doing. We think a good image of this would be to see gaga in a bath while wearing leather, this would link to gaga's tendency to be explicit in unusual ways.

we'd discussed much more (same point for amber's post) than I see here: multiple locations, often linked to lyrics, for the protagonist, and an overall narrative focus; use of diegetic shot-in-shot thru TV screens etc; intertextualising, possibly using older refs to boost 2ndary aud appeal; gaga locations + costumes, and the line between sexually charged and explicit - so the leathers/bath idea ... I'm sure much of this is reflected in imminent pitch, but should be reflected here too!

as the track has a slow introduction we plan to have different focuses and depth of fields as well as extreme long shots, wide shots and long takes.

Papparazzi Idea

I made some notes, mostly for my own benefit, of an idea I had for a video based on Gaga's Papparazzi. However, I have also made a more comprehensive video/anamatic, which details my idea clearer than the notes do.

Continuing the development of this idea, I was thinking of adding further performance displays, this could be implemented through, on the 'stalker wall', or on the lens of the camera, a preview of which I will implement onto this blog. Another potential idea, would be to include the performance in the reflection of windows.
Having also looked at C&Cs of other videos, I think that the inclusion of a diegetic intro or outro may work well. I have realised that there could be a slightly filmic way to do this video, which I feel would work well and be interesting to trial.

Yet more thoughts on this; towards the end, post gf death, have her approach the guy, who is not in focus, then follow around her to the side of her, have him walk by an be followed by gaze, then have her be at the death point, perhaps with out changing her position [see NCIS Gibbs someones dead, kate?], this would then lead to her approaching him and pushing and then turning and falling at win't stop? baby there no other? for kill, or the papa, have fall during the little beat part, then turn and fall for the last papa? then include diegetic outro of waking to para then picture of him for flash end?

NOTES:

emphasis on happy couple. Jealousy, so green it featured colour on singer, while the guy and gal have pink and blue with yellows, pastel colours rather than otherwise, happiness and him and her. 

Instagram shots with narrow DoF and the like her laughing, holding hands, general couple stuff.

Singer meanwhile watches this, the presence is constant but sly in each shot, she seems to be at the back of shots, out of focus more than she in in shot and focus. Ie, she looks to be window shopping as they look at trinkets she is seen (just) staring at her laughing almost envious, she is seen eating chips with mallice, scoffing with each passing gimmick. The couple never notice her, and the camera should not be drawn to her in a unnatural way, they could get up and go and it could be left with what seems to be an accidentally too long clip with a second of focus on singer. She is only seen lip syncing while the couple aren't there, the idea being that the escalation of her stalking is tied to the escalation of her singing with them. Could be started as shots on similar, but not the same places. Up to same places, diff angles. Then to same places, diff times. Up to same places, same time, non interaction. Finally to interacting.

She is taking pictures of them

Key point at which interacting starts it when she kills her. This is the pivotal moment, her plan is in action and she must act quick. Singing the song in the same woods, he goes ahead as she ties shoelace, he's getting a nice PHOTO, killed as approached and pushed with lyrics sing, blurry and maybe blocked by light. She apporaches, only one on screen, with light from behind. As we find the gf there she blocks the light. This connotes the feeling that she sees herself as the angel  when she is the devil. She pushes her and the shot is less clear, the light unblocked, this is a heavenly act something like Abraham's sacrifice (perhaps see a sheep/lamb?), it's been done under god's wishes, she kills to prove she is worthy to be with him. he's just done the photo and turns, she is there looking desperate, we do not see it but he's worried, let's down his guard and runs infront of her pushing her away. She has venom, and blocks the sun once more. Return to the scene, (no sheep) and he is leaning and is heartbroken. She knows what is to be done, he will not be hers, so she pushes him too. At this point she knows what she has done. We see he is falling, and he lands, as he does, this causes the camera to go off, with a flash, that then embraces the screen with white. She (falls?) in and into this white. She seems to have passed over too, but as the song finishes, and she sees them, we return with a start, it's paramedics, she survived by landing on him. To her his last act was one of love to her, clearly happy, she rolls over, and song goes. (Alt. She is woken by a paramedic, who looks like him, and we are left to belive this begins again.)
